Irish national team coach Gene Muller announced his squad 26 athletes selected for the next Irish training camp. With his eye firmly on the WorldHockey Olympic Qualifying Tournament next April Gene will no doubt be looking to build his strongest possible squad of eighteen for the event.

The Irish squad will be taking in a warm weather camp in Coach Muller’s homeland, South Africa from the 10–20 January and the forthcoming training camp will serve as preparation for this tour. The trip to South Africa will provide the Irish women with valuable match time when they play the Dutch U21’s twice and South Africa four times.

The selected squad sees some of the stalwarts of Irish Hockey including, McKean, Goode, Cregan, McKeever, O’Brien and Symmons with a few newer names breaking through such as Moffett, Quinn and Watters. The camp list also includes former South African squad member, Louisa Moore. Louisa is an Irish national who is relocating to Dublin in the New Year. “She is a 23 year old striker and the national camp will afford her the opportunity to compete for a place on the national team,” commented Coach Muller.
