The men’s team of Egypt was responsible for the first major upset at the African Olympic Qualifier here in Nairobi, Kenya. Egypt defeated tournament favorite South Africa 1-0 on Wednesday and took over the lead from the South Africans. In the other men’s match, host Kenya defeated Uganda 5-0
In women’s action at the African Olympic Qualifier, South Africa defeated Ghana 7-0. Nigeria was stronger than Zimbabwe (2-1).
