FIH Vice President Annabel Dillon received another honour yesterday, with her naming of Her World magazine’s Woman of the Year for 2004 in Singapore.
Less than a month after receiving an International Olympic Committee (IOC) Women and Sport Trophy for her outstanding contribution to sport in Singapore and Asia, Mrs Dillon was chosen for her achievements in 2004 at a gala function.
Mrs Dillon was selected from six finalists and presented with the award by Minister of State for Finance and Transport Lim Hwee Hua.
“When you do something that brings you so much fulfilment and satisfaction, receiving an award like this is like a double bonus,” she said.
Mrs Dillon was the first woman elected as President of the Singapore Hockey Federation last year and was elected to the position of Vice President of FIH. She was also Singapore’s first woman chef de mission at the Athens Olympic Games.
