The Pakistan Hockey Federation Congress Meeting took place in Karachi on 2 April. The PHF Congress, attended by 93 members out of a total of 108, unanimously elected Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali as PHF President and Olympian Khalid Mahmood as Secretary General of the PHF.
Khalid Mahmood has represented Pakistan in Tokyo Olympics/1964 (Silver), Mexico Olympics/1968 (Gold), 1971 (Gold) & 1973 (Gold) World Cups, Tokyo Asian Games/1966 (Silver), 1970 Asian Games Captain (Gold) besides being the Manager and Chief Coach of Pakistan team in Gold Medal winning title events. He was the Captain of the Gold Medal winning team of the inaugural World Cup in 1971/Spain.
He holds Masters Degree from the Punjab University and having served in the Pakistan Customs from where he retired as Deputy Collector. He has held various important positions in the PHF set-up during the years and has varied administrative experience of the PHF working.
