Today, the London Organizing Committee gave a glimpse into what the Olympic Village will include when the LOCOG Athlete's Committee was given a tour of the facilities. The committee came away impressed and gave the Village the thumbs up for athletes, who will start moving in before the Games being in late July. More

    Hosts make history with frist-ever title at the event

    Malaysia captured its first-ever gold medal at the Junior Asia Cup after topping Pakistan, 2-1, in a final game in front of more than 7,000 spectators. "This is a very proud moment for Malaysian hockey as we finally won gold after 25 years in this tournament,” said Malaysian head coach K. Dharmaraj after the victory.  x 4 More

    Teams ready for blue and pink pitch test

    The Sultan Azlan Shah tournament starts in Ipoh, Malaysia in 10 days and will run from May 24-June 3. Seven of the top men’s national teams will take part in the annual event with Great Britain, Korea, New Zealand, Pakistan, Argentina, India and Malaysia in the field. This year’s event, the tournament will be played on a blue and pink pitch along with a yellow ball.  x 2 More

    Lighting the London Fire

    The Olympic flame is officially lit in Greece

    The Olympic flame will be lit in a ceremony in Olympia, Greece, on Thursday ahead of the start of the torch relay and the London 2012 Games. Carried by 8,000 torchbearers, the Barber Osgerby-designed torch will cover 8,000 miles across all of the country's nations and regions, to reach the Olympic Stadium in Stratford on 27 July to light the cauldron at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.  x 3 More

  • London releases 62,000 more hockey tickets

    The London Organising Committee (LOCOG) has announced that another 62,000 tickets for the Olympic hockey tournament will go on sale. Olympic Park tickets will be on sale at £10 for adults and £5 for young people and seniors. Reflecting the promise made by LOCOG Chair Sebastian Coe and CEO Paul Deighton last year, tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis.  x 31 More

    It is with deep sadness that the Croatian Hockey Federation reported the sudden death of Ivan Hrupec. The 66 year-old was a hockey official, a former International Umpire of the FIH grade, a hockey player and the member of the HK Zelina as the good ghost for the many generations.   More

    On Saturday, German National Team player Matthias Witthaus made history becoming the nation’s most capped player in his 351st career game. Witthaus surpassed the previous record holder Philipp Crone.
