Six more teams earned a place in the Hockey World League Round 2 after three tournaments concluded on Sunday. The USA men were the lone survivors from a three-team tournament in Chula Vista, California. Joining the Americans on the men’s side in Round 2 will be Trinidad & Tobago and Chile, which finished first and second, respectively in the tournament in Trinidad & Tobago. Canada and Uruguay have continued to excel at the women’s Hockey World League Round 1 tournament in Port of Spain (Trinidad & Tobago), with both teams producing winning displays on Wednesday to virtually guarantee their participation in Round 2. The men’s event has also started, with Chile and host nation Trinidad & Tobago establishing themselves as the early pace-setters. More

The women’s Hockey World League Round 1 event in Port of Spain (Trinidad & Tobago) has got off to a cracking start with a staggering 40 goals being scored in the opening six matches of the competition. Table toppers and top seeds Canada are solely responsible for 22 of those goals thanks to big wins over Venezuela and Guyana, the two lowest ranked teams taking part in the tournament. More
