Four more women’s team claimed a place in Round Two of the World League after this weekend’s Round One event in Vienna, Austria. Making the cut were Belgium, Russia, Ukraine and Austria. Belgium and Russia already had their place in the next round secure after just three days of action. But the real drama was the fight for the last two spots, which Ukraine and Austria ultimately won. The Austrian's berth came after a nail biting shootout in the final game of the tournament. More

Belgium and Russia have continued to dominate proceedings at the women’s Hockey World League Round 1 competition currently taking place in Vienna. With two full days of competition remaining, the top seeds have already claimed enough points to guarantee a top four finish and seal a place in Round 2 of the Hockey World League.
