Korea – Germany 1-4 (half-time: 1-2)
Germany’s Lisa Hahn lifted her team to a seventh-place finish in this Olympics with a two-goal performance to power Germany past Korea, 4-1 Despite the silver-lining win today, seventh place still ties Germany’s lowest Olympic finish.
Hahn opened the scoring six minutes into action when veteran Natascha Keller set up a perfect play for Hahn who was waiting by the post for the 1-0 goal. Korea was quick to even things up, converting a penalty corner just two minutes later. Cheon Seul Ki fired in a rocket to the upper corner for the emphatic tying goal.
Again Hahn was there to put Germany back on top. With the goalkeeper faked and covering the wrong corner of the net, Hahn had plenty of time to flip in the go-ahead goal, again from her favorite spot by the post.
Fanne Rinne opened up the lead and gave Germany some breathing room with 15 minutes to go in the game with her penalty corner shot that bounced in off a Korean stick. It was clear after the goal, owning a 3-1 lead, that the Germans would go on to earn the win. Marie Maevers put the icing on the cake in the win with her diving effort that brought the final to 4-1
Korea’s eighth-place finish is on par with their last three Olympic appearances, where the nation has two ninth-place finishes and one seventh-place. The seventh-place finish is clearly below Germany’s expectations, but at least the Germans could send Keller off with a win should she decide to end her international career after these Games.

Natascha KELLER (GER)
On her emotions after her last career match:
"They are different. On the one side I am very sad because of my last game. On the other side I am happy that we had a good end. I now have a new life."
On her favourite memory from her career:
"Not one memory. I have so many good memories. I enjoyed to play in such good different teams. I loved to play with them (Germany) for the last time, but it's not a good end for us in this tournament. But I had a very good career and I am happy with that. Now it's time to say goodbye."
On winning their classification match:
"This is the way we wanted to at least finish the tournament, to win the last game and I think we presented ourselves pretty well in the last game. We were pretty upset about how it went before but I'm really glad about our performance today."
On how the tournament did not go to plan:
"We directly said we wanted to win our last game and shit happens, it's sport. We didn't play our best hockey at this tournament. In some way if we had performed as well as the games before in our preparation, we would have gone to the semifinals. We know that it was in our own hands, we messed up and we wanted to play one good match at the end."
Seul Ki CHEON (KOR)
On whether Korea fulfilled their expectations at the Olympics:
"To be honest, I wanted to come to London in 2012 and get to the semifinals so I'm disappointed that we didn't."
"They do show the heats on television, but now that we're out of the Games I'm not sure they'll be showing the semifinal and final matches. There's a lot of support for Korean athletes back in Korea, and we've felt a lot of support during the games, so I feel a little bit like we've let the Korean supporters down for not making it further."
