Everything at today's Women's Olympic Qualification Tournament final was in Japan's favor. A sold out crowd, perfect blue skies, and a amazing show of domination against Azerbaijan in a 5-1 victory. The win lifted the Japanese to their third consecutive Olympic appearance and was a fitting ending for the top-seeded hosts. x 22 More

With Japan earning the last spot in the London Games, the preliminary round picture became clear. In the next few weeks, the FIH and the London Organizing Committee will work together to finalize the competition schedule for the Games, which being on July 27th, with the hockey tournament beginning on July 29th. More

It will be a battle of the top two seeded teams on the final day of the Women's Olympic Qualification Tournament in Kakamigahara, Japan. Host Japan won the round robin group thanks to a straight forward 4-0 win against Belarus. Azerbaijan will join the Japanese after a 2-2 draw against Chile was enough to put them through to the final. More
