    South Africa defeated India, 3-1, in an intense Final to earn its qualification for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Italy fended a late challenge from Ukraine to win 2-1 and finish the Hevent with the bronze medal. Canada ended on a positive note against Poland with a 3-0 win.  x 15  x 3 More

    South Africa picked up their fourth win of the round-robin against Canada (4-1) to cruise into the Final of the Hero FIH Road to London competition. India defeated Italy in a dramatic match (1-0) to grab the second berth in the Final. Ukraine won against Poland (1-0) and will play for 3rd-4th place. More

    With a spectacular 5-2 win over host India, South Africa secured its spot in the Final on Saturday. Italy won an important match against Ukraine, 2-1, to keep its chances alive for the Final. Canada had to work hard to finally break the Polish defence at the end of the match and earn its first win of the tournament. More

    The team captains and trophies of the Hero FIH Road to London tournaments were presented at India Gate, an historical landmark downtown Delhi. The competitions will open on Saturday at Major Dhyan Chand National Hockey Stadium. The Captains of the six men’s teams and of the six women’s teams were in attendance and posed for the media with the coveted golden trophies.  x 7   More

    Preview: Women's Olympic Qualifier

    The Women’s Hero FIH Road to London tournament starts on Saturday in Delhi, with 6 teams fighting for a single ticket for the Olympic Games this summer in London. This is the first of 3 Olympic Qualifiers, with the other two in Kontich, Belgium (March 17 to 25) and Kakamigahara, Japan (April 25 to May 5). Canada, India, Italy, Poland, South Africa and Ukraine will try to join the nine teams already qualified through the Continental Championships last summer.  x 2 More
