Cracking-wise in the women's tournament

2012 Olympic Games (women), London
Throughout the tournament, the media have had huge access to the players for post-game interviews. For the most part, answers are straight down the line but, from time to time, the players are allowed crack a joke. Here are a quick few of our favourites from the women's competition
Some say goalkeepers must be mad to take on the job of getting in the way of balls travelling at thunderous speed. Australia’s Toni CRONK, though, sees it another way
"I think we're actually the smartest, we wear all this padding and these girls run around with no clothes on, or no padding!"
Maartje PAUMEN (NED) says the reason she hasn’t converted a penalty corner yet is by choice: " I keep my goals till the semifinals."
Kobie MCGURK (AUS), meanwhile, has a novel take on why she is enjoying her side’s early morning starts: "I'm a country girl so I'm used to it, but a lot of the other girls aren't."
Charlotte HARRISON (NZL) felt bad about poaching Gemma FLYNN's goal against Argentina:
"Was it going in? Oh no, she's not going to like me very much!”
